| Stone is truly the oldest material
on earth. Sculptors have been making sculptures in stone since the beginning of
human existence. Other materials like wood and bone have been used of course,
but stone has withstood the everlasting assault of natural forces. Man
understood this and transposing his thoughts to stone assured him of immortality
